CERTOUR II was selected as one of the top EU funded transnational projects.
More precisely, CERTOUR II was assessed, among around 200 transnational and cross-border projects across Europe, as one of the two projects that can be regarded as best practices in the field of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. For this reason, the project will be presented during a special international webinar organised by the European Commission, on June 30th 2020.
The CERTOUR II project is funded by the ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020 (1st call for proposals) and implemented by a transnational team of organisations from Greece, Romania, Ukraine, Armenia and Turkey with Lead Partner the “Technical Chamber of Greece – Eastern Macedonia Branch”. The project implementation started in October 2018 and is expected to conclude in July 2021.
Main aim of the project is to support the tourism SMES in enhancing their managerial skills and the quality of the services provided. In the project participate, on a pilot basis, a total of 100 tourism SMEs from the participating countries.
Following the distinction of the project as a best practice, all Partners expressed their satisfaction and commitment to the conclusion of the project with the best outcomes while they announced that a new project, complementing CERTOUR II has already been approved for funding and is supposed to start in July 2020. The new project, titled “EXCELTOUR” aims at promoting business excellence in tourism sector.
